Here and Now

You. You are handsome in that way of Clark Kent with your glasses and button downs. You intelligence and wit make a wonderful night of banter and conversation with no uncomfortable silences. You stand tall, telling stories about your travels, family, friends and life. I laugh as I find you intellectually stimulating – wanting to learn more, to hear more.

Now you. With your tattoo’s and motorcycles. You are the ultimate “bad boy” that mother’s and best friends warn every woman about from the beginning. Yet of course the intrigue of that makes the pull stronger. Your sensitive side is a pleasant yet unexpected surprise that I haven’t quite put my finger on. Flowers, opening car doors, overly affectionate, your daughter. Your dimples mesmerize me.

I enjoy both. But I know eventually one must go – I just don’t know whom.
